Inside Andaz One Bangkok: The Trendy Lifestyle Hotel Opening Beside Lumphini Park

Share:

Bangkok has a knack for reinventing itself, and its latest evolution arrives this December with the opening of Andaz One Bangkok. Settling onto historic Wireless Road, the site of Thailand’s very first radio telegraph station, this new opening brings a distinctly creative energy to the city’s newest district, One Bangkok.

Sitting right on the edge of Lumphini Park, it offers a refreshing dual experience: sweeping, peaceful views of the capital’s largest green space on one side, and immediate access to the bustling city grid on the other.

With MRT Lumphini station directly connected, hopping between rooftop bars in Sukhumvit, riverside temples, and high-end shopping hubs could not be simpler.

Taking its name from the Hindi word for “personal style”, the hotel leans heavily into local connection rather than standard corporate luxury. Designed by prominent Thai firm PIA, the property is conceived as a “Vertical Neighborhood”.

Wandering through the corridors feels a bit like exploring Bangkok’s famous sois (side streets), where every turn reveals a fresh architectural detail, subtle Thai window grill accents, or artwork by local female artists.

The mid-century architectural touches borrow curves and arches from historic landmarks like nearby Vidyu Palace, balancing modern urban slickness with authentic cultural roots.

What to Expect: Park Vistas, Local Touches, and Rooftop Evenings

The 244 guestrooms and suites range from cozy 38-square-metre layouts to expansive pads with private pools. Most rooms look directly out over Lumphini Park, giving you a front-row seat to the canopy below, a proper urban sanctuary after a day spent navigating the humid Bangkok streets. Inside, the design keeps things sophisticated without feeling stuffy.

Expect marble bathrooms with walk-in rain showers, BYREDO Eleventh Hour amenities, Dyson hairdryers, and a complimentary non-alcoholic minibar stocked with local snacks to keep travel cravings at bay. On the seventh floor, an outdoor infinity pool overlooks the tree line, right alongside a fully equipped fitness studio.

Dining is where the hotel really shows off its personality, offering three distinct spaces:

  • Jǐng: The ground-floor dining spot focused on authentic Chinese cooking. Named after the Chinese word for “view”, it features an open kitchen where native chefs cook up traditional dishes against a nature-inspired backdrop.
  • Andaz Terrace: An open-air venue ideal for watching the sunset over the skyline. It serves Asian-influenced bites, curated tea-based cocktails, and Hong Kong-style pastries.
  • Piscari: Perched on the 23rd floor, this Mediterranean spot is led by French chef Marc Vasseur. Focusing on fresh seafood and sharing plates, it shifts from daytime sunlit meals into a lively evening lounge complete with a DJ and a hidden speakeasy tucked behind closed doors.
